    Hi folks,

I know this thread pops up every now and then for things to do in Vegas.

Im heading there on my honeymoon later this year and wondering apart fromthe usual "touristy" things can you recommend anything.

Ie shooting ranges / sky diving etc….

There is so much to do there.

Helicoptor ride over the strip at night
Helicoptor trip to the Grand Canyon and have lunch there
Water rafting on the Colorado River

These are some of the things I did with the other half while in Vegas.

Oh, and there is the Casinos :D

I used these when booking stuff.

If you are looking for a thrill, there are insane amusment rides on the top of the Stratosphere Hotel. I saw from below but did not have the balls to go near it.

there is a shooting range in Vegas !

loads of pubs/clubs, casino's, restaurants, hoover dam and grand canyon are not that far away.

if you wanted .. you could drive to Yosemite National Park or Death Valley

Did the tour to the Grand Canyon, was an amazing trip. Would only recommend a few days in Vegas, the fakeness of the place gets a bit much at times...but a great experience none the less.

We did that a few years ago ... bought the DVD ... wasn't very impressed - was very rushed, had less than 20mins actually at the Skywalk .... was ok, but not worth the money.

skywalk is a waste of money from what i heard, its nowhere near as spectacular as the main south rim and you can't do half the stuff there you can at the south rim such as hike down numerous trails

We went during our honeymoon a couple of years ago, don't really gamble and for that reason weren't mad about the place.

One thing we really loved was the Atomic Testing Museum http://www.nationalatomictestingmuseum.org/ we are the only people I know of that visited this great little place!

We took the helicopter trip to the canyon, which allowed us to stand down in the canyon for about half an hour, have a glass of bubbly and take loads of photos. It's expensive but you will only ever do it once, the bus tour is cheaper though the journey is about three hrs I believe.

Depends on where you're staying and how you're getting there. There are many to choose from. What I'd do is wait till you get there, and pick up a voucher book - there may even be one in your hotel room. I had planned on going to the Gun Store when I was there, but found a voucher for twenty bucks off Machine Gun Vegas which was just as close.

Of course if there's a particular gun you want to shoot, you'll need to research it a bit more carefully, I just wanted to shoot. Be prepared for a long wait.
