Why do people advise holding the vapour in your mouth before inhaling?

I've been tending to just draw & inhale like I would have with an analog

i dont think they mean to hold it in your mouth for any period of time.. just draw into mouth then inhale, as opposed to going straight into the lungs.. which will cause a coughing fit in most people

The vapour can cause cough gags in people that are not used to it.
