Help with tights!

Hi all,

I'm looking for tights for my 20 mile round commute as the mornings are still cold for shorts.

They must have an ass pad and not expensive. 50 max.

Any recommendation?

Decathlon do decent bib tights. Their bike ranges are generally classified as "3", "5", and "7" (don't ask me why!) in increasing order of quality. I've a couple of pairs of the "5" bibs and they're great

The "3" range should be grand for shortish commutes, and they've bibs going for £12.99 (http://www.decathlon.co.uk/bib-tights-3-black-id_8181412.html)

You might have a problem with delivery as I don't think they're delivering to the Republic at the moment, though you might be able to work something through Parcel Motel

Are these the best pair available for that price?

I started off with the Vaeon/Pace and decided to treat myself to the Roubaix version which a micro fleece lining and is a better fit which is more suited to the variable conditions here. Even on warmer days you won't roast in them. For 55e they are reasonably priced too.

On the off chance that you're an extra small, I have a brand new pair from wiggle here if ya want them. Never worn. You can have them for the cost of a cup of coffee.

I just use ordinary nike or adidas tights and throw my bib shorts over the top of them. €25 my latest pair cost me, been doing it since I started cycling as the price of some of the bike gear is ridiculous.

If you already have short bibs then you could just use leg warmers.
