So i'm moving back to Ireland and want to get to grips with the best setup -broadband wise for using the following system

    Synology 2 bay nas
    ATV2
    Xbmc

Whats the best broadband to go with - I used NTL when i was last there and had "unlimited" downloads.

Here in Canada I use acanac.ca and its 35$ for 18mbps

Would love some advice on where best to buy the sort of products we need for cordcutting in ireland/.

    cheers

The only HD channel in Ireland in rte2. I have UPC for broadband with a fta sat and aeriel combo box for my tv.
But with naviX I could prob get rid of the sat box

I think I pay UPC around €45 for 25MB? broadband but that includes a €7 fee because I don't have a house phone. I've said thanks but no thanks to a house phone many times as my UPC bill would get very large very quickly with a house phone.

Looks gimmicky to be honest. A simple UHF yagi and Sky minidish will do. Plenty of available FTA HD via terrestrial (Irish channels - as said earlier RTE 2 HD is the only HD channel from home atm) and satellite (UK channels). All this can be incorporated directly into your PC using a terrestrial and satellite tuner cards.
