Hi, I am currently in my second semester of MH101, first year arts, and am looking to do straight psychology next year. However, I have gotten my christmas results and am now not eligible for second year psychology as I will not make the top 30. I was just wondering is there any other ways of continuing psychology in another college, or any other other options for me.

Hi, i'm in 1st year MH106 (Undenominated Psychology) . Just wondering how do you know you aren't eligible for 2nd year? Work extremely hard for 2nd semester and you never know!

How did you get on in your exams?

Is it that you need to get over 60% in every Psychology exam and pass all exams in other modules? I think that's it.

AFAIK you need 60+% for the year - averaged across all your psych modules, and to pass your other two subjects. So there's no way of knowing yet if you're eligible yet (unless you outright failed some exams). If you have 60% or more at the end of the year you'll probably be in the top 30 of people who WANT to continue on in psych - remember that lots of people scoring high might not want to keep psych on, or already be on MH106 or the science route :)

I doubt that you have to get 60%+ in each exam. I'm in MH106 and I just about got over 60% in both modules! Don't count yourself out of the game just yet, one of my best friends doing Psychology through MH101 got the exact same results as me, and he has no intention of transferring into MH106 next year!

Loads of people that are offered to continue Psychology in Second Year don't take it so you've certainly a winning chance of continuing it. Just work really hard this semester to push your average up.

If it makes you feel any better i got 47 and 51 in my Christmas exams for Psychology last year and still got through with an average of 60.

And only the top 19 got through for this year :)
