worn rivet/screw in tap

    Hi guys anyone know how to get a rivet type screw out of a kitchen tap it needs a new washer but the rivet/screw head is worn from overtightening it and because it at the back of the tap close to a wall i cant use a drill or any thing big on it would appreciate any help thanks :(

    You might have a better chance of getting at it if you turnoff the water ,disconnect the taps from the pipework, and take the tap off the sink, at the very least you can get a better look at what you are dealing with

    Thanks, never thought about taking the tap off, I'l try that.... its on a granite worktop would that make any difference

    The granite work top should have no bearing on it

    do you mean philips head screw? try different screwdrivers. I have one good, that fits well in many screw heads, other twenty screwdrivers i have ussually are not up to job at all.
