On demand and wireless connector

    Hi,

Bought wirless connector so we could avail of the on demand service, told it was simple to activate.

We have eircom broadband which works perfectly fine with all other devices in the house, but the sky wireless connector will not accept the eircom broadband password. We are not entering it wrong, am fairly knowledgable when it comes to technology so now about passwords being case sensitive etc

The wireless connector firstly says it cant find network then when it eventually does after turning off and resetting the box it finds signal but wont accept password.

CC just keep saying the same old stuff-plug out box, leave it for a few mins/30 seconds, plug back in, reset etc, have tried it all to no avail.

Any ideas how to solve this? Its defo not the password being entered wrong and defo not a prob with broadband as its perfect with our other devices.
Also, the router is close to the sky box and connector.

Can u try the new box in a different house to rule in or out your own network?
Also check the manufacturers website for firmware or forum issues..
    Good luck..

I had the same problem for months. All my other devices in the house worked fine but i could not get the on demand box to work. I phoned Sky numerous times and nothing helped. They told me to get on to eircom which i did and the guy on the phone told me that my router was the problem and that he would send me out a new one. I had the old grey netopia router and when i received the new black one i connected up the on demand box put in the new router password and with in two seconds the old on demand changed to the updated version. All other devices will work with the old grey netopia router but the on demand box won't for some reason. Well it didn't for me. Give eircom a call if you have an old grey router and they should change it for free. Also make sure you have on demand activated on your Sky account. Give Sky a ring and they will do it for you over the phone.

Got this and the wireless connector arrived today. Have set it up but the service connection says Fail. Have tried resetting my modem, resetting the wireless connector and resetting the sky HD box but nothing works. I'm with sky for broadband so that shouldn't be the issue. Any ideas?

    Thanks
