Apple Store repairs / inspection?

I'll be up in Belfast for a few weeks and I figured I'd get my 2010 MBP looked at. The lid is very slightly off center with the unibody, and it's causing the keys to press against the screen when its closed. It's already causing some screen scratching and I'm afraid if I leave it too long I'll have to get a new screen.

What I'm wondering is will the Apple shop in Belfast take a look at my (out of warranty) laptop for free, and would I need an appointment?

Also as a side, has anyone else had this issue and got it fixed?
