Looking for Information about Film Studies?

I'm interested in studying Film Studies next year after I complete my leaving cert. My parents think it's stupid idea but it's the only college course I'm interested in and have always been deeply interested in films and such! I would be hoping to study the BA (Honours) in Film and Documentary in GMIT.

Has anybody done/are doing this course? Is it good?

Is there any jobs in afterwards?

In what areas are jobs available?

Any help/information would help a lot thanks :D

Taking an Arts Degree in Mary Immaculate in Limerick might also be an option. You can take media and 1 other choice subject. There are a number of film and television modules within media but you still have another subject so you are keeping your options open. If you enjoy media and in particular, the film studies aspect - you can always go on and do the M.A in film studies in NUIG afterwards
