I am looking into transferring into Arts in UCC next year to do French and Politics. Currently in my first year in UCD and not too mad about it. The admissions office said that there would have to be places available in the course in order to transfer. Does anyone have any experience of transferring? What are the chances that there will be a space available for me? Also, when do you find out if you have been accepted or not? Thanks!

Thanks! Did you submit the transfer form in May or when did you go about doing it? Just wondering when I'll know if I have a place or not (i.e. need to look for accommodation, etc.)

I think I applied early June? But I didn't get a yes until a week or two before UCC college actually started

Did you have to inform UCD that you were transferring? Or what way did that work? Is it unlikely that there will be spaces available for Arts or is it big enough that you're pretty much guaranteed a space?
    Thanks again for the information!

Hmm I think I had to drop out formally by sending in an email? My UCD email account was deleted so I can't check (Watch out for that btw) and I say you'd more than likely get in, there's a pretty major dropout rate like.
