Help !!! Crocodile skin and pain

    Hiyas i just bought this chest, the pic does not do it justice, its gona be my project for the next while

    Its made of oak and crocadile skin its over 100 years old

    Any ideas for getting the gloss off the skin ?? Id be sick if i ruin it

    That's a tricky one and it is unlikely that you're going to find a simple DIY solution for it, it's more like a job for a conservator/ restoration specialist. However you could try emailing this crowd:

    I have used specialist paint strippers from them in the past and they are pretty good, if expensive. Alternatively see what car restorers use to rehabilitate old/ damaged leather car upholstery?
