can you use the old Microsoft word on windows 8

i still have it on my old XP lap top ?

The answer is probably because you should be able to run apps in compatibility mode. But what version of Word?

is it easy to transfer on to new lap top win 8

You'll need the original install discs. Windows apps don't react well to just being copied and pasted to a different system.
