I bought new wiper blades from Halfords this morning, however they gave me the wrong one for my back window... Does anyone know if they'll exchange it even though its been opened?

According to consumer law it depends on what you asked for. If you said I want wipers for X car and they gave the wrong one then yes they have to replace it. If you asked for a wiper of Xmm long you are entitled to nothing apart from a good will change.

Another problem could be that they have the wrong length in their system, I know for my car most places have the wrong bulbs for my headlights.

I doubt you'll have any issues to be honest. Just bring in the old one or have the correct length.

I just told him the car and he gave me the front wipers( which fit fine) and then matched the back wiper (i think its for the 5dr version of the car with a bigger back window)

Ill head back over, better to sort it sooner rather than later...
    Thanks for the help :)

If anything the 'no quibble' money-back guarantee in Halfords is a curse because it means the staff can basically give you a refund and all but tell you to PFO if there's an issue with your purchase rather than actually deal with the problem.

I once bought a pair of wiper blades based on the catalogue that's bolted to the shelf where the blades are on display. Brought them home and tried to fit them but clearly they were not the right blades for my car. Went back to the store (Carrickmines), parked right outside in case one of the staff needed to verify that they wouldn't fit. Went in, went straight to the blades display and checked the blades catalogue again to make sure that I had bought the blades it said were the ones for my car and I had done so. Went to the girl at the desk and outlined the problem, she sent me over to some guy who was up a stepladder, I explained the problem, said my car was right outside and he could check but he told me to go back to her and get a refund, didn't want to know.

Went back over and got the right 1, it wasn't the 1 that was on my car already but the 1 that should have been... Was cheaper than the one that was too big also... Always a bonus!

Halfords are generally very good for replacments, don't think you'll have any issues.
