i advertise our holiday home on airbnb, so am well familiar with them. i would also recommend housetrip, very similar website in the way they offer accommodation. i get more enquiries from US/Canada though via airbnb. Housetrip tends to be european

presume you've tried the irish website holidayhomesdirect.ie....they use daft/myhome

from personal experience, the best UK websites are, holidaylettings, followed by ownersdirect and homeaway

i would also say that prices tend to more expensive on airbnb and housetrip as they add on a commission for themselves.

Airbnb is good IME. Thanks to Jocelynel for the advice on other sites.

haven't used it myself but a work colleague used it for an apartment in Canada and had glowing reviews. The guy she rented off turned out to be really sound and she ended up hanging out with him for a lot of her holiday!

I have been looking at rentals from Airbnb for a family of 3 adults and 1 child for a two week holiday in seoul in June this year.
From what I can gather some of the hosts actully live in the accomadation while you are renting, which is something I don't think we would be comfortable with as we really would much prefer to rent somewhere that we have total privacy, has anyone experience of such things in Seoul that they could give advice on.

    Thanks in advance

yes, that's correct, with airbnb and housetrip, some of the hosts are in the properties
you have got to filter down the properties to 'entire property' on these websites
try my other rental websites suggestions above

Why not if you like what you see and it's good value.

I've used them 5-6 times in London, always a good experience.

have you gone into the airbnb site...you can browse places in london, and read up on guest reviews. don't forget you have housetrip too, maybe worth a nosey to compare prices. you only need to create a user name once you decide to book/query with the host. us 'hosts' don't receive any payment until 48 hours after you have checked into the property, so it's safe and secure for you the guest.
