how many bales of silage does 1 person get from an Acre of land in 1 cut?

How long would it take 1 Growing calve to eat a bale?

If I had 50 bales and 50 calves how long do you reckon it would last me?
    is there a ratio?
    Thanks in advance

There are a lot of variables there and it would be impossible for anyone to give you an exact answer.

Bales can vairy quite considerable depending on how well the bale was packed and how dry the grass was when it was baled. With well dried grass and heavy meadows I can get 8 to 10 bales per acre. With wet grass, this can be up to 15 bales per acre.

What age calf are you talking about? Young calves will eat very little silage. A bale of silage put in front of 20 calves 1 month old will go sour before they have it eaten. On the other hand, I can put a bale of well wilted silage in front of a pen of 10 6 month old weinlings and it will last them 4 days.

if your talking small numbers ie 1 animal then silage will be a waste as it'll go stale once opend after a few days. Hay would last longer. You could buy a few bales of hay and some ration to feed her over a winter.

like rellig says it all depends on the quality of grass, how heavy the cover and the type of bale (chopped/unchopped). a heavy crop could yeald a dozen chopped bales avg is about 10/ac

According to this app I bought (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.livestockfeed&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5saXZlc3RvY2tmZWVkIl0.)a calf will eat 10kgs of Silage per day or 15 kgs of fresh grass
