Anyone have any experiences with this company? Have an Interview with them but after reading online I am quite skeptical about them on the whole. Woman on the phone wouldn't really answer any of my questions about the job

Usually that would be a tell tale sign that the company is a door to door B2C business that classifies its staff as independent contractors who get paid commission only.

Had a feeling it might be something like that. They were way to positive on the phone saying things like huge interest in the job but we took special interest in your CV

    http://xrmarketing.com/About/

Here's their site, have a nose through and decide for yourself if it's worth your while seeing what they have to say in the interview. It could be a non B2C independent contractor job afterall

Edit: looking through the site, they're a B2C commission only company. All the names from the other companies that do it are listed there.

Sorry for posting on an old thread for starters. I had an interview with XR yesterday and then later on had a talk with a few other applicants. Only an hour and a half later they rang me saying congratulations and saying I had the job if I wanted it. While it's great news there's a nagging thought in my head saying I got the job a bit too easily.

Plus they talked about it so positively in the interview that it seems they're exaggerating. I've a week or so to decide but I'm not sure if I'll take it now. Advice?

from what i understand you are generally in the field for 5-6 hours and you're supposed to knock on 130-150 doors in that time. commission is fairly good, but very hard to get a sale, it isn't for everyone, especially during the winter! a lot of people either refuse to answer the door or close it in your face. not a whole lot of 'marketing' going on from what i hear, more sales than anything!

Commission-only, door to door, sales. I've read quite a lot about that company and the other ones the exact same as it which you see have taken over the jobs.ie website that past few years, and from all I've read and heard about them, as well as having gone for an interview with them myself (twice), it's more or less as close to a scam without legally actually being a scam as a job can get.

Sorry for posting in an old thread. I'm glad I read it as I have an interview with them coming up. Sure I'll go and see what the story is. If I get to choose my own hours, it might not be too bad.

You don't get to choose your own hours - it's usually about 2-8 Mon to Fri and then the odd Saturday. Also, it won't be an interview so much as a sales pitch by them to work for you. If you are into door-to-door sales then this is the gig for you, if not...

Sorry for posting in an old thread. i have an interview with xr marketing tomorrow and have been feeling a little skeptical about it. i applied for the job about an hour ago and have already received a call. The woman on the phone was nice and courteous but i'm not too sure if its a commission only or if there is any guaranteed wage. I was told that they had a lot of cv's come in but that they took special interest with mine, they also said that the deadline for applications was today but that they'd extend the opening window specifically for me. These things have given me a few niggling doubts about the job and if it is a scam or not.

The woman I spoke to was called Sarah on the phone. I got into reception and spoke to edel I think. Waited about ten minutes before being interviewed. They look for you to promote and try sell things Ike airtricity. The terms are commission only with no guaranteed wage, so if I was you I would give it a miss

Old thread, but I would love other people to read this. I believe this is important and inform others so they won't go there!
This is "company" which give you job as door-to-door salesperdon which didn't guarantee any earnings. Scam!

This is the story how this company somehow got my CV and interviewed me.

I was looking for job in hospitality and I really wanted it quick, so I sent lots of cv's to different places. As I have experience as cleaner thats what I was looking for.
Next day got phone call. Nice friendly voice inviting me for interview next day (as far as I know, they always trying to be nice everywhere so I wasn't suspicious. And I thought they may need somebody immediately). She said she call from XRMarketing and she can see I have experience in hospitality. Then asked do I like Ireland and want to stay here. Said few words about nice friendly irish people and that she herself is from England. That was weird.
I got appointment confirmation email few hours later. With address (Harcourt Street Dublin) time and dress code: business dress.
I realized I dont remember applying to this company but there was one job offer without adress and company details. It was for cleaner and fully described cleaner duties. Must have been this one!
I didnt find any specific information about this company on their website and what they do except marketing, sales and events. Photos looked like some place which trying to make "family atmosphere".
Anyway I decided to go and see although I felt like it could be scam. Im young but luckily heard about it. I still hoped it could be some cleaner job for them.
Next day in the morning I got Phone call to confirm I will come. I felt worse and worse about this place. Nobody ever confirmed with me interview so many times +calling from private mobile number!
Got to the building and took the lift up. And than... Little lobby, about 7 people sitting around. Young, old, different nationalities... Then I knew it's scam and definitely not a cleaner job haha but I wanted to play this to the end just so I will know for experience in the future.
There was a young girl running around, trying to make welcoming atmosphere, smiling, greeting, helping you with jacket and god only knows what else. Remembering people names immediately and warmly talking to them.
Behind the lobby was small office and she was running there and back, than some people started to go out of office and asking applicants to go with them for interview. In normal places nobody would ask 10 people to come for interview at the same time and just go with so many random interviewers! What do they think!
Finally I went to the conference room with some girl, who asked me about previous experience and didn't even listen. Than she said that is something different what they offer, it's face to face sell of alarms, they're connected to charity, something about somebody very successful in that company. She said I will get training and they will teach me everything. No specific tasks, no hours, no salary. Didn't give me any information. Asked me to tell how I feel about it. I responded with question how exactly this job looks like on a daily basis, she said (a bit nervous) that she just explained, than add working hours (mon-fri, could be sat as well, and she gave hours) and asked again how I feel about this job. She didn’t say any word about door-to-door sale, but that what it is.
I felt so fooled and disappointed that I didn't even asked where they got my CV and how when I was never applying for something like this (I have a profile on job site and you can check where you applied and I only send CV for cleaner jobs, waitresses, shops, exact places). I could made a fun of her asking more too intelligent questions, but I said I'm not interested in this kind of job.
Straightaway she was standing up next to the open door didn't mind that I needed to put on my jacket and take my bag. She wanted me to go, as there was more fooled or to-be-fooled people waiting. I dressed up slowly to make her angry and slowly left. She run back to the office. How unprofessional! No respect at all.
    Very interesting and disappointing experience.
Stay away from this people, you all know who they are.

Didn't have any necessarily bad dealings with that company myself 3 years ago when I applied, but what sent up red flags was that I barely hit ''Send'' on the online job application and I was already being called for an interview. Pretty similar to AlRooney5.

I didn't read the job details properly, much less do research into it. This coupled with naivety at that age made me assume it'd just be a cushy office job with a guaranteed wage - ''happy days!'' I thought. They seemed like a nice crowd in the interview but the second red flag was that they were continually praising the position by mentioning a high commission salary, benefits and all the rest. It just felt more and more like I was being reeled into a scam, and because they seemed to take a particular interest in myself out of all the applicants. Barely 20 mins after leaving the place at the end of the group talk I was called again and congratulated for getting the position. Caused me more doubt since you usually don't get jobs that easily.

Decided to go with my instincts and not take it. Left them a voicemail that night and lied saying I was offered a position I couldn't refuse elsewhere. After researching the nature of similar jobs I realised that I might have dodged a bullet.

I know this is an old thread. I have an interview with these soon. I'm really thinking of not going. Honestly, I don't even know what job I applied to. It was a vague job description-something along the lines of "Ambitious but lacking in experience?" I'm really not feeling it with them or from what people are saying.

it depends on if you need a job or not, it you do use it as a stop gap, it not dont go but cancel so their not waiting around.
