Was wondering if anyone could give advice on buying a new toilet please. We bought a house and gutted the bathroom. We have a bath bought and need toilet, sink and shower. We have the Heiton Buckleys catalogue and saw a toilet that breaks down as follows:

    Make - Sonas
    WC Pan - €80
    Cistern & Fittings - €90
    Seat & Cover - €30
    Total - €200

Then I saw a toilet in Woodies

    Make - Troy
    Total cost - €59.99

    http://www.woodiesdiy.com/Product/TROY-Close-Coupled-WC-Suite/15328/6.10.1

Can anyone tell me what the difference between the 2 would be. Very tempted to just get the 60 euro one but is there a reason it is so cheap?

    Thanks for any advice!

The Sonas one is a good make with spare parts available if you need them, In over 30 years in tge trade I never heard of Troy, so its bound to be junk & forget trying to source spare parts if required.
Remember the lesson buy junk get junk.

It all depends. The troy is a standard toilet. Nothing wrong with it. All that really goes on them is the cistern fittings and these dont cost much. Roughly about 50 euro, I cant tell what model sonas you went for. But bear one thing in mind. The toilet seat might not be standard on either one so its important to cheak.

Standard to the range that is not standard to the toilet.
