I'm considering leaving my Job and returning to education this year. My question is would my husband who is on a CE Scheme at the moment be able to claim for me & the kids?? he is due to finish on the scheme in August which means if he doesn't get a job he will be claiming Jobseekers. I'm really not happy in my Job and really cant see myself sticking with it much longer as it's really stressing me out and I have no prospect of promotion. I have put off returning to college for some time now as I feel i should be grateful to have a job when so many haven't. Im just worried about the financial aspect of my decision. Thank in advance :)

Hey, if you ring Citizen's advice they can give you the fine details, but going on my own experience, if you are on a low wage he will already be receiving a payment for you (I think it's about e120) if you are unemployed too he will receive an additional e20 per week. That's all. I was unemployed during the summer (pre-school teacher) and that's all we got. Hope this helps and as I said just check with Citizen's Advice they can give you more detailed info in case your situation is different than mine.
