DIGIWEB, Wireless router, loss of FTA signal

    Hi all,

With DIGIWEB for about 5 years, no issues. It's received via a small square box on the side of the house. It's up about 20feet, with FTA dish below it at about 12feet.

A few weeks back, started to lose BB/telephone. Logged it & they sent out an engineer, while I was at work. Young fellow in the house let him in/out, so I've no real clue as to what he actually did.

But, since that time, we've noticed that anytime we use our BB (via ipad or old desktop computer), it interferes with our FTA signal. Pixelated screen, black screen etc. Stop using the BB, FTA signal jumps back in.

I'm assuming there is a connection in some way (can somebody comment on that), but why has it only happened in the last few weeks?

I initially thought the satellite dish had moved, become unstable, but it's still solid into the wall.

    Any ideas on that?
    Thanks in advance.

Digiweb uses similar frequencies to satellite. He may have moved the digitweb equipment closer to your dish.

You may need to seperate them more by either moving the dish or the digiweb gear. If your dish was not professionally aligned when it was put in, then careful tweaking may help.

    Thanks zg3409.

They sent the engineer again, he told us that somebody else had placed a transmitter close to theirs, resulting in several DIGIWEB customers getting erratic (wonder with a digital signal why it's not off or on, as opposed to erratic) service.

I wonder if that issue, which is theirs (as opposed to mine) means I am entitled to request a pro-rated refund if I go with another provider (I pay the 'METRO' subscription yearly).

I thought you said you internet was working fine, but it was your TV that has the problems? Anyway if it is all working OK now just cross your fingers.
