    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to visit for a sun holiday in late July for 2 couples (early 30's). Looking for somewhere 3/4star at least and which provides golf nearby for 2ppl every second day. Know this is the high season but looking for value for money at the same time.

Any recommendations welcome for anywhere, thanks

Vilamoura in The Algarve, Portugal. You can't go wrong. 5/6 golf courses, plenty of hotels, nice marina, beautiful beaches, etc.

    Hi,

Thanks, Yeah, been looking at Vilamoura alright, seems really nice. Is there a decent nightlife there, although nothing too crazy. Any hotels you could recommend?

    Thanjs

We holiday in Vilamoura every year for the past 7 years because my husband and my son play golf. We usually stay in an area known as The Old Village which has apartments and townhouses, because it suits us. My husband and I have stayed in the Vila Gale Marina, which is an ideal location, and would offer transport to the golf courses. The hotel was grand, nothing spectacular, but would stay there again. Relations of mine stayed in the Crown Plaza and said it was lovely. My husband and golf buddies have stayed in the Dom Pedro Golf. It would be mostly golfers. My husband and I have stayed in the Hilton. Fabulous, but can be expensive. All my family love Vilamoura. We are going there again the end of June.

we stayed in the dom pedro golf in vilamoura about 6 years ago. it was september time and i would rate it 3.75star (if such a star existed!!). o'neills irish pub at the marina is a good spot and there are loads of lovely restaurants all dotted around the marina. you will enjoy people watching in vilamoura...a lot of wealthy people about! for another night out, pop down to albufeira old town square, only 10 minutes away in a taxi...great spot too for a night out!

Tunisia also would cater for the golfers. Port el Kantaoui in particular. Not sure if you want a full 18 hole course or would be happy with a smaller course, but there are a few options there. Be careful what hotel you pick though...but some of them are really amazing, others not so much. Depends on what kind of a bargain you are getting.
