XP font changed to strange characters

    I've a customers laptop here, was running OK after a tidy up, but on reboot the font has changed to something weird. This is also happening in safe mode, but not for all menus and windows. Even the desktop icons are in this font in full windows.

    I'm trying to figure out how to get to system restore. Anyone come across this before or have any ideas?

    Ok, found system restore in the System 32 folder and successfully got it back to yesterday and all looks fine. Malwarebytes is turning up nothing though, anyone any ideas?

    I'm out for the day but I'll get back to this later and post a hijack this log
    (I'll resize those images above now to tidy the thread)
