Yeah, twice recently. Both times on Lufthansa 321’s. The first time the lady just moved to her correct seat when she was challenged. She said she had a bad back or something. I think she was American.

The second time it was a very professional looking, well groomed, overcoat wearing, leather brief case holding youngish German guy. When he was challenged he went absolutely apesh1t!!. My German wasn’t good enough to keep up with the argument but he was ranting and raving for several minutes. The Stewardess threatened to have him removed from the aircraft and he finally took his proper seat. I felt sorry for her as she looked visibly shaken from the experience.
I wouldn’t mind but I was the only one in business for that flight.

I’ve also been in business class a few times when a few different Irish politicians were traveling . The amount of abuse they get from people as they pass by them while boarding is unreal. Strange thing is I’ve never seen it effect any of them. They truly live in an ego bubble. For the life of me I’ve no idea why they board when they do and put themselves in the firing line

Saw it in Abu Dhabi closing up on a flight to Sydney with Etihad.
Cabin manager came down to this young guy, hand goes out looking to see his boarding pass seconds later he's up out of the seat doing the walk of shame.

On Etihad the LED lights on the seats indicates to the cabin crew if the seat is to be occupied or not. The LEDs show green or red.

Have seen it loads of times especially on flights into Nice because you will always have some pretentious dimwit who wants to be seen sitting in business but is just another bell-end.

The latest one was from Frankfurt, a Russian woman who was hammered drunk just threw her bags on the ground and sat in Row 3 and then acted like she had no German, French or English when she was asked to move. When she eventually did move I was unfortunately sitting in 6D and on she comes to take her correct seat. 6E! She had plenty of English when it came to ordering three bottles of white wine on a 1h30 flight.

Woman.... not girl. She was in her 50's at least and probably could have me shot with the drop of a text message.

The LEDs show green or red depending on the seat configuration - i.e. if you have it in the upright position for takeoff and landing so that the cabin crew know when checking that the cabin is secure.

Have seen people try this frequently, however the seem oblivious to the fact that the crew has a list of the passengers and also may only have a limited number of meals / giveaways for that number of passengers. Therefore there is very little chance of you getting away with this.

But those of us working in terminal buildings would have nothing to laugh at if everyone dressed up.:pac:

A lot of people, particularly the media and what are known as 'XRate celebs' like to take a punt and look for upgrades, I think they are called.

They seem to think that they can ride in J class for the Y fare while those who pay for it don't notice.

Some go to huge lengths to cultivate the airline staff to achieve this goal.

Luckily the staff seem to cop on to them fairly quickly.
