esb connection mobile home

    hi all, im thinking of building a house in the next few years and have a site,but have to getting planning permission on it first (have being told it will be no problem). to save on rent i have a mobile home bought my question is would i be able to get an esb connection for said mobile home without the planning permission granted for house i plan on building, and also how much would esb connection cost, my site is about 700 meters from the nearest esb pole. thanks in advance for any info/replies

    We did something similar about 3 years ago for a mobile home site.
    We were only 80m from out nearest take off & it cost €1,700 including one extra pole.
    I also had to build a concrete block pillar to house the meter & dig a trench 20m long with 2" plastic pipe which had a rope strung through it to pull the cable to the mobile home.

    Bear in mind that they may not connect the mobile home until they get sight of the planning permission for it.

    ya i had heard it might be an issue if the planning is not sorted first
