    Hi,

I want to use a gsm modem to receive texts and update database on website.
I have a wavecom gsm modem and i'm using an o2 pay-as-go sim

However the modem does not register to the network --- bands possible on modem are 900/1800, signal is coming in very high 27 - using at+csq etc)

using cops=? it has chose o2 as preferred (returns 2,"IRL DIGIFONE","DIGI","27202")

however using creg? it returns +CREG: 0,2 indicating that it is unregistered ---- i cant seem to get it off this state

sim card works fine in phone etc.
    baud rate - ive tried several 9600, 2400, 112800 etc..no difference

Any suggestions? Is it a problem with imei registration on o2 network? Do o2 allow this sort of usage? if not are there Irish based operators who do?

Ive looked up several similar posts on boards but alas i'm no nearer to a solution

any help you can give me is much appreciated,

    Thanks a lot,

    Ger.

Does no one have any advise or experience with these?

Is this in the right forum or should I post in another one?

    Thanks a lot,

    Ger.
