My brother has two Sky+ HD boxes and Sky told him they could only activate one, so the other one is just running as a standard box. I'm not sure if he just got someone who hadn't a clue though.

Yes to get full Sky + functionality though, you'll need a second cable to feed into the new sky + box

thanks for that, second cable wonder if i could do that myself? sky will probably charge a fortune!

He got someone clueless, two HD boxes here both running with everything.

To the OP, yes you can run the cable yourself, but it might be worth giving Sky a buzz - I got my first HD box a as part of a deal that included moving the Sky+ box to the other location including extra cable runs etc for around €100.

Run a second coax cable which you can get in any electrical stores, DID, Power City, Satelite equipment store and run to the dish check to see is there a correct quad on the dish as in a place for 4 cables to fit.

I am in a apartment and sky ran 1 single cable to a Fibre MDU converter where I can have 4 cables coming off it it's a great set up and quality signal.
Not sure of cost for converter box.

Short answer is YES you can. You will need to bring 4 cables from you dish , 2 to box 1 in room 1, and 2 to box 2 in room 2. You will have to get a quad lnb for your dish. That will cost about €30.00. I have that set-up in my gaff.

Surely he would already have a quad lnb if there's 3 leads coming into the house?

reading the thread Here about a new HD offer, looks like Sky are going to facilitate recording sharing between boxes, which may well be worth looking into when the time comes, so might be worth holding off for a while.

2 plus boxes are not an issue, been running that here for years, using a multiswitch, and it's very reliable.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

I have 1 sky+ and 2 regular boxes in my house, can I change 1 of my regular boxes to another + or HD box? just by calling Sky or do I need other fittings apary from the box ? Cheers
