Hi All, I got 3 years of p21 in the post today.

Heres the break down for 1 of them Charged as follow: €15,145.00 @ 20% = €3,029

    Tax due €3,029

On the back of page it has:

    Panel 4
    €Tax credits SELF

    Personal Tax Cr €1,830.00

    PAYE Tax Credit €1,199.00

I would really appericate if somebody could explain this to me as I am not sure if this means I am entilted to money back ?

Also im 20 and single if that will have anything to do with it. Many thanks, Darren

First thing's first - Have you paid any tax? If you haven't paid tax, then you can't get a tax refund!

The figures you've given indicate that you have no tax to pay for the year - the total tax payable on your income is 3,029, but you have tax credits that reduce this to nil (1,830 + 1,199 = 3,029).

This means that any tax you did pay would be due back to you. But given that you have enough tax credits to cover your income, there would have to be a mix up between your employer and Revenue for you to have paid any tax in the first place.
