    Hi All,

I just bought my first car at the weekend. A 1.8 Type-S Honda Civic (2008). I love it.

I was just wondering if there was any other Civic drivers out there with the >2006 model who have purchased accessories online or somewhere in Ireland recently? The immediate thing I am looking for is a new gear knob as the current one is a little worn / scratched. (No worn or scratched knob jokes please...:))

I came across this site (http://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/honda-civic-types-c-830.html) and prices look decent enough for what I expect to pay but was just wondering is there anything more local or maybe cheaper online?

    Thanks,

    OR

Well wear. Never saw that site before. Might upgrade my gear knob too, the silver paint has a small chip on it from the previous owners wedding ring.

Thinking of upgrading the rear indicators to the post 09 clear ones too

Im also considering the aluminium filler cap as mine is the plastic one. Not sure if it will look that different though.

The key with the red Honda logo would be nice too as they're only £8

Check out civinfo.co.uk. Often people on there have upgraded their knobs (tee hee hee) and are selling off the old one.

I have a 2007 Civic and put in the leather shift boot and modified the gear knob a bit.

Much prefer it with a boot.

FYI - Fuel lid retails at €110 + VAT.

OEM Fancy upgraded gear knob is €90+VAT retail, but doesnt look great.

Hmmm... I've a 2007 Civic and just curious to check the price of wiper blades.

I just noticed there's two versions, one for cars with rain sensors, the other without.

    Standard Wipers

    Wipers with/for rain sensors

It's under the Honda Type-R section, despite the fact I navigated from the standard Civic page.
Are the special "rain sensor" version of the wipers specific to the type-R or applicable to the standard 1.8L version too?

I've rain sensors on mine, and never specifically got rain-sensor blades.
I thought the sensor was behind/inside the windscreen and nothing in the blades?

I have the aftermarket radio hesd unit in mine that is coming out, panals for dash and wiring for aftermarket head unit and the unit itself is going.

my civic has original radio back in it for selling !

The wiper blade must reach the rain sensor, hence the rain sensor specific blade is longer (only on the drivers side).
All the 5dr Civics can be fitted with the longer blade (as the dimensions of the arms, windscreen etc. are the same),but the shorter "normal" blade shouldn't be fitted on models with the rain sensor,as it wouldn't reach the area behind the mirror.

It doesn't matter if it is a Type-R or not,the rain sensors are the same.

The part number for the rain sensor type blade (RH side):76620-SMG-E11

BTW the pair of blades would cost you about €33+VAT from your local dealer.

Bought the last major service kit for my Accord from Cox Honda; air, oil, pollen, fuel filters plus 6L of 0W 30 Mobil SS oil filter socket for €208 delivered.
Gibbon75, I'd be interested to know what this lot would cost me in an Irish Honda franchise today?

    From top of my head:

    Oil filter: €12
    Air filter: €24
Fuel Filter: €35 (post 2007 model ,pre 2007 might be an extra €5)
    Pollen filter: €33
    Honda 0W-30 6L: €72 (roughly,could be +/- €1)

So that would be about €176 in total (the above prices are including the VAT).

Have any of you guys found something decent to connect an iPhone to the stereo? I've a 06' Civic 5dr and i'm lost without my muzak in the car! Anyone?

I have this kit that I bought in Halfords: http://www.parrot.com/usa/products/bluetooth-hands-free-car-kits/parrot-mki9200

Its fantastic. If you are anyone mechanically sound you could install it yourself but you have to take most of the dash / handbreak area off. Or you could just pay halfords to do it!
