My local Tesco has this "City Diesel" stuff at it's pumps as opposed to normal Diesel.

    1. Is this a marketing gimmick or how is it actually different? It's low Sulphur EN BS590 or something like that it says (no idea what that means). Is the supposed benefit here that it has lower emissions or something?

    2. Is it safe to put this in a standard diesel motor? Or is too much of this stuff going to cause problems in the long run?
More than likely a marketing scam, all diesel has to meet certain standards so anyone especially Tesco offering anything better than topaz/Apple/esso seems a sly way of getting a few cents extra

I don't rate what I get back from Tesco Diesel.

You run up to Belfast a bit from memory. Brim her in Applegreen Blaney Northbound and again Southbound on your way back down. It's the best I'm getting in the locality.

Applegreen in The North East track about 1 cent less than it's sister station further south to compete with the filthy laundered stuff being sold all over the Border.

Tesco from my experience is not cheap.

That's their brand name for their diesel.

This will only help to mislead the average punter that Diesel is a good choice for city driving. Ideal for a few trips down to Tesco to to the shopping etc.

Then get a suprise when a little light shows up on the dash.
