The Rock as a wrestler 2013

Now I am not gonna spoil anything here from the Elimination Chamber and your gonna find out the result anyway tomorrow most of you if you did not watch it tonight.

He cannot work a match now, he does not have the stamina or the cardio for it, he relies on other people to make him look good and numerous rest holds. Now I like the Rock and always have, but he has 7 movies coming out this year that all require upwards to a months promotion and it does not look like he will find time to get himself back into ring shape.

When he came back to face Cena it was awesome, we hated Cena and wanted to see him lose and did not see the flaws with the Rock, but now with both punk matches we see the issue.

    So going into
    Wrestlemaina
what can me expect of The Rock and does he really deserve to even be there,
    Cena is no CM Punk
and will not be able to carry him through a match as well as we have saw in his last 2 encounters with
    Punk
    .

So what are other peoples view of this?

Thanks for the post and I totally agree.

Hes in his position in WWE at the moment all because of his box office numbers. He was an outstanding wrestler in his time, but I think hes spent too long building muscle, and not enough work on cardio. We hear commentators talk all the time about being in ring shape as opposed to being in shape, and the Rock is a perfect example. He blew up far too soon against Punk in his two matches with him. Mayne he should fight "headlock Randy" next, itd be a perfect matchup for Rocky

I thought he was fine, he was never that special in the ring. Cena can carry Rock to a great match. I guarantee that.

Think people are being a bit too hard on The Rock though, his cardio isn't the issue, those rest holds are there to fill time. At the end of the day he's a full time Hollywood Star and a part-time main event Pro Wrestler, he can't be going full steam for 20 to 30 minutes straight in matches, increase the risk of injury and screw up his main source of income and delay multi-million dollar film productions not to mention Mania. Less is more in The Rocks and WWE's eyes when it comes to Rock's in-ring work.

Just posted this in the Elimination Chamber Thread and felt it applies here also.

Rock is there to do what he does best now, bring new viewers and old viewers back to the wwe product, and according to the rating figures ive seen since he's back, he is doing his job very well, also as he's a movie star, by bringing the wwe belt to movie premieres, movie photo shoots, interviews etc, he brings main stream attention to the product.

Problem is when he's gone, Cena will probably be champ and the viewers will switch off again.

What happened to in ring maestro that pulled out a Dragon Screw Leg Whip and a La Magistral at Survivor Series 2011?

I think it's more of a case of Rock and Punk not fully clicking together. His match with Cena was excellent (and I enjoyed it even more on second viewing rather than live), the Survivor Series match was great fun (even if it was designed to protect Rock) and in fairness he's had a good and very good match with with Punk.

I thought the match last night was great. People are just guessing that he's tired. He seems because he's good at selling the impact of the match and as for rest holds, they are in almost every match. Really don't see an issue. As usual he and Punk got a dead crowd going crazy towards the end; there are few wrestlers more exciting to watch, even now. Even at this stage of his career, there are only a few guys in WWE as good as him at entertaining a crowd inside and outside the ring; thought he was great last night.

In fairness he was making a Bodybuilding movie with Mark Wahlberg at the time [No Pain, No Gain?] so that explains the massive muscular growth. He was always built but he never Batista size until recently with that movie.
