robin3, DC Files should sort you out.

I used their files a long long time ago.

'Dashboard Update' and 'Firmware Update' is what you'd be needing, from the drop down selection menu. Click on the modem icon to the right, to download your selection.

'Dashboard' is just a stand alone of the Huawei drivers, for use on a PC.

One thing, make sure your current drivers are installed and that the modem is detected by Windows, as official Huawei updates can be very finnicky about finding your hardware if it hasn't already been installed. In short, the update won't be able to find your modem.

The DC-Unlocker forums can be of use too, think of having a browse there.

thats my problem alright, it cannot detect the modem. the modem is installed etc and i've been using it, sp presume this is what you mean by having drivers installed, how can i help windows recognise it?

I'd generally suggest trying to update on a PC running XP. Also, insert the modem into a different USB port to rejig a driver install. That has nudged a recognition for me, in the past.
