I know there's a few threads about this but I can't seem to work it out following the other directions.

I just got a Samsung Galaxy s3 mini and am trying to link my NUIG email account to it. When I try to add it I'm asked what type of account it is POP3, IMAP or Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. I've tried IMAP and MS Exchange but it either comes up that my username is wrong or it can't connect.

Does anyone know what the trouble might be or have any similar problem?

It's pretty straightforward to set up. Account settings are as follows.

    Type: IMAP

    Incoming Server: pod51002.outlook.com
    Security: SSL
    Port: 993
    Username: <NUIG email>
    Password: <email password>

    Outgoing server: pod51002.outlook.com
    Security: TLS
    Port: 587
    Username: <NUIG email>
    Password: <email password>

This gives you the ability to both send and receive email, with data being encrypted in both directions. Note that this will not let you send emails while connected to the NUIGWiFi or Eduroam, as ISS have the SMTP (outgoing server) ports blocked. You can still receive emails as normal.

I have all my mail forwarded to my gmail, and I have given my gmail account permission to send mail as from the @nuig address. I hate having to check multiple email accounts so everything goes into the one.

You can also set up filters/labels etc.

    Ah got it, much appreciated.

I came across your earlier post about this in a search but think I messed up the security setting.
