Ran a red light

    I think I ran a red light earlier today. Well it was orange but most probably red when I went through it. Not very smart because when I looked in my mirror there was a Garda van right behind me. To my amazement he didn't come after me. Does that mean I got away with it, or could I still get something in the post?

    If you were to be done they would have chased you down they probably were texting or on the internet at the time.

    You'll be fine unless you go on a shooting rampage also. Ifs and buts and all that jazz.

    I hope they put some punctuation in their texts.

    Sure green is also only if safe to do so as learnt when had a car hit my driver side when she went straight through a red and took 3 years to eventually get my car fixed. her argument was I should have seen her.

    " An amber light means that you must not go beyond the stop line or, if there is no stop line, beyond the light. However, you may go on if you are so close to the line or the light when the amber light first appears that stopping would be dangerous" from RSA website

    haha that reminds me alright.

    Green = Go
    Orange = Go Faster
    Red = First 3 cars

    We only have amber on stop in Ireland. Get ready to go is the UK and is red and amber.

    Yes I realized this after my post, it is like the pelican crossings in the Uk they automatically stop, in Ireland you take your life into your own hands, jay walking is the reason alot of Irish get stopped in the USA.

    Never ceases to amaze me. You know there is no such thing as a fast lane either?

    If you get the middle lane in a 100 meter sprint, yes, this is one of the fast lanes of many fast lanes, (while this dose not compute, you were kinda wrong).

    They were probably too busy complaining about their boot allowances to notice.

    I am beginning to think you actually failed their exams and that rejection has set in?

    I am beginning to think you are a garda on about €80K a year and is expecting the rest of the country to feel sorry for you because you are going to lose your boot allowance. Front up and take it on the chin.

    No but if I was I would be tough with little lads who hit and then run off.

    I think I hit the nail on the head with the "reject" bit. Was it the height they failed you on?

    Most Gardaí are more worried about the prospect of losing up to €140 a week. It's more likely they just had somewhere else to be.
