Hi Guys! I have a little dilemma. I have been accepted to both TCD and NUI Maynooth. I am trying to decide which one to go to and need help!!! Which one has the better reputation (TCD?), and is NUIM a party school? Because that's what I am afraid of... Thanks!

I wouldn't go to Maynooth purely because it's in Maynooth

Are you part of some kind of advanced admission scheme? CAO offers are a long way off.

Well if you're going on reputation TCD is the top ranked university in Ireland. It would be better known internationally than a lot of other Irish colleges. I don't know much about NUIM or whether its a 'party school,' but Trinity isn't one anyway.

What course are you doing? Someone might be able to tell you about the standard of lectures and such

Trinity College Library Dublin benefits from legal deposit legislation of both Ireland and the United Kingdom.

    TCD all they way!

Why? Because three years after graduating you'll automatically get the 'Bee Gees' MA, so called because you get it for merely staying alive.

Get to pay €600+ that is.

if you are from the states i'd say TCD is a better option as it is more recognised internationally purely on the name alone, it'll look better on your C.V if you're job hunting in the states

TCDs reputation is far far better than NUIM. TCD is within the top 100 universities in the world. Not sure where NUIM is, but it isn't in the top 200

What course is it? Its not all about the general reputation of the college. For example if it was a music degree you'd be better of heading to Maynooth.

TCD especially if you're working internationally or in USA. All my US friends have heard of TCD and are impressed by it. Say Maynooth.... they say 'where?'
No offense to M'nooth - it's a good uni. TCD is in a different league.
