My shed is 6'x6' and it hold 6 bikes... 4 on the floor and 2 on hooks from the roof. I can still walk in the centre between the 2 groups of 2. One faces the door the other faces the back wall..

Its tight but ok.. I nearly have to take out 2 or 3 bikes to work at one !

Thanks. I don't need any space to work in the shed, its purely to store the bikes in. Would 6x4 be too tight do you think?

I'm just reminded of something here.

Sheds are bad for bicycles unless they are fitted with heating and/or suitable dehumidifiers.

    Reasoning:
Cold weather outside and the shed and its contents cool down.
Few days later milder weather bearing moisture approaches, shed is ventilated and the bikes with their good conductivity of metal pats condenses the moisture out of the air and it sits on them allowing corrosion to occur.
Cycle repeats over and over with time.
    Corrosion continues.

Bicycles should be stored in bedrooms and all of the family should take their dutiful place in the shed or caravan.:D
