    Hi,
Last month the gas valve and heat exchanger went, both at separate times and left us all freezing while money & parts were sourced to fix. Now the boiler not even coming on, when it's switched on there's a very quiet noise but it dosnt continue on with the normal start up noise as it should, and reset not switching on or off. Water pressure at normal level also. Any ideas what could be wrong this time would be greatly appreciated, this boiler has me broke...

Why was the heat exchanger replaced? If it was due to sludge, was the system powerflushed? If not, it could be a circulation issue again, i.e. pump & therefore boiler will cease early on in the ignition process.
There is absolutely no point in putting in a nice new shiney heat exchanger into a boiler that is connected to a system full of crud.

Hi, thanks for your reply, the heat exchanger was replaced as one side was corroded and leaking, definitely broke. The boiler is 13 years old and more then likely on its way out, so would imagine it probably is full of crud as I don't recall it ever being powerflushed. The boiler will probably need replacing this yr as its breaking bit by bit but can't afford it right now, so hoping this time it's not a major problem. Thanks again.

Either pump not pumping and flow sensor isnt reading a flow

    Or fan not working.

Either way you need someone to look at it

Is your plumber a registered gas installer?
