Has anybody else got one of these bikes. They can only be purchased in the North. Having contacted them by e-mail I was informed that a size 60cm would suit me although I questioned this as I am 6ft. They were adamant that it was the correct fit. I was thinking of travelling up and getting one of its the right size but dont want to waste a journey. The bikes have received good feedback and although it has a very basic groupset, shifters and wheels their is room for a complete overhaul and upgrade of components. Has any owner done this aswell? The bike is all Al with carbon forks. Any info from previous owners would be appreciated. For €400 you cant go wrong with another training/commuter bike?

I don't know anything about these bikes, but a 60cm frame for someone 6' tall
    seems a bit big,. It's hard to generalise, but I'm 6'1" and I take a size 58.

I thought it was strange alright. I take a size 57cm in my other road bike. However he said it is the way these bikes are build i.e you take a bigger size then what you think you need:confused:

    Geometry counts for a lot.

My knees hit the drops on my 60cm roadbike until I flipped the stem (I'm
    6'2")

Giant bikes for instance are usually a bit biased in the other direction.

Decathlon have a helpful sizing guide http://www.decathlon.fr/velo-route-triban-3-id_8167038.html
Why are people using centimetres regarding bicycles and inches regarding themselves

A friend of mine has the Triban and swears by it. He just does a bit of leisure cycling and it's ideal. Spec is pretty good for the price, I've seen the same set up on bikes that are twice the price and more. I have never seen a bad review of it either.

probably because bike manufacturers sell their bikes in metric sizes, or s,m,l etc and people here aren't full-on Europeans, so we measure people in imperial sizes (well I do anyway..):P

Bought it for my OH as an entry level road bike. Absolutely fantastic bike and I think it probably is the best value for money available anywhere. €400 for a nice frame, Shimano components and carbon fork delivered to your door.

The Triban 3 sizing guide is as below, in CM obviously.

    Rider Size: 142 150 159 167 175 184 192
    Bike Size: 45 48 51 54 57 60 63
    ""
So at 6'0" in height you'd be right on the money for a size 60, 184cm being a fraction over 6'0"

Went up today to get a Triban 3 size 54 as I'm 5'9", I knew they were out of stock before I left but I thought I'd try the size in another style and order the bike for delivery. However when I got there the sales rep suggested the 57 size as that would suit me better. He was bang on, perfect size. Needless to say that I came home with a new bike and can't wait to get out and try it out.
