Does anyone know how to start the process to becoming an aircraft electrician? is there any college courses or trainee-ships that allow you to advance on to become an aviation electrician after you become an electrician? i hope to be finishing my apprenticeship in the coming months and am really interested in the aviation field and i was wondering would this be possible?
    Thanks in advance Ross.:D

You'd have to sit b2 easa exams and do ojt afaik. Basically another apprenticeship unless there's a conversion.

aircraft engineer apprenticeship, which involves sitting all the easa B1/B2 exams and practical training. This leaves you fully qualified to work on aircraft, and also allows you to specialise in electronics/avionics. DIT Bolton street run apprenticeship courses afaik

You may know this already but there is more money and better working conditions as an Electrician than as a B2 Avionics tech. The money and the hours in most Aurcraft maintenance jobs in Ireland are not very good. FWIW If i was you i would stick with the residential/ commercial electrical route and give the aircraft a miss.
