I support liverpool myself but after loseing to west brom would you reckon they have a decent chance of winning.

Paddy power online have them at 5.50

    What do you think

They're definitely worth a few quid. They're ahead of Liverpool in the table but they've lost 35% on the road so I'll be taking the draw/away double chance @ 2.5.

Prices on Liverpool at home are always far too short.

I put €1.50 on then at odds of 5.5 with PP. potential returns are €8.25

Afaik, Liverpool have not got a win against a team in the top ten places of the league this season.

Double chances vs Liverpool are always worth a punt ;)

I'd wait for the team sheets, Swansea have a big game next Sunday.

Actually a good point but Liverpool have been woeful at home this season and haven't been getting results recently so they might give it a right go.

    They have a chance!!!

That's a week away :S Why would they rest anyone when they have a week to rest?

    It's a good point though.

Swansea have one of the biggest games in their history next Sunday so might have half an eye on that.

However, Liverpool are a nightmare to bet on!

    I'll be staying clear tbh

Imagine Swansea without Michu, its not rest that's the issue its injury.

Swansea at 5/1 against a poor Liverpool team who have just returned from Russia is great value imo.
I'll be on dnb, double chance and outright win.

Swans: Vorm, tiendalli, Bartley, monk (c), Davies, britton, agustien, de guzman, hernandez, lamah, shechter

Don't get why they'd rest players when their "big match" is a week away.

Wish I hadn't backed Michu wincast now (though it was only a Euro on it).

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Carragher, Lucas, Gerrard, Coutinho, Downing, Sturridge, Suarez

On paper, this should be an easy Pool win...

Disgraceful stuff from Swansea, 8 changes for a game that's a week away. Maybe the FA will investigate. Hope they lose to Bradford.

It just baffles me that they'd rest players for a match a week ahead, especially when the match is against such a weaker team. I get they've already dispatched bigger teams, but still. Do footballers who get paid that much need two weeks of a rest? Jesus.

why play the players when they could get any type of injury so easily ?

Why ever play any players then? Better not play Van Persie at Reading or QPR for United then; might not be fit for Real in 2 weeks time.

And it's one thing to rest one or two key players, but to rest the entire squad pretty much is ridiculous.

Hilarious reaction! Managers have squads rather than first 11s for a reason - its games like this (and next Sunday).

Still I did warn you all!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,429 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

They have squads to rest key players, but I do think it's a joke to rest your whole team like that.

Regardless, money gone and we move on...

I hope they get in trouble for resting players like that

Wolves got in trouble for that a few seasons ago.

I think that's because McCarthy admitted to playing a weakened team iirc.

could be right, not sure but anyone could see how weakened that team was

    Yeah.

I always argued that the difference between Wolves when they rested their players and a team like United resting theirs tonight against Reading is intent; United's "B" team will still be a strong one going for a win. Wolves, and imo Swansea yesterday, played teams they didn't care if they won or lost. Swansea would probably have forfeit the game yesterday if they could have and obviously didn't give a damn about winning or losing....

All managers should inform gamblers of their intentions prior to sending out a second string team....

Hope they get beat on Sunday.
    Lesson learned.
