Fitting New Seats

So I just tried fitting some new seats into the Pug....
When I took out the old one I was greeted with this beside the handbrake, apparently it's a common issue on them.
    So it was repaired previously...

The trouble is that when I go to fit the new seat the holes don't line up, the "fixed" anchor point is not in line with where the old one was.
Now from looking at it I think I will need to drill a new hole in the subframe of the new seat to match up, trouble is that its gonna be real close to the edge, and possibly too weak to hold. I have some large washers I could throw on to help spread the load, but I really am not too comfortable in being sure its going to hold....

I may be able to move it in a bit, but not much...

    Any advice or ideas?...

Get someone with a tig welder to stick a plate along that edge then make your hole and use a washer.
Same stuff the seat base is made of will do as a doubling plate.

Anyone know of a place around Cork that I could get that done?
