Mondeo battery light

    Light came on last night. I suspect a blown diode in the Alternator...anything alse I could check? going to be a hell of a job to get out the Alternaotr so I want to make sure there sare no other possibilities.

    Mondeo ST200 2.5 V6

    first things first.

    check the battery connections. one might be loose.

    check fluid level / charge in battery

    neither of those would cause a battery light to come on!

    Do the headlights flicker & the engine does not idle properly ??

    Alternator not charging you can get reconditioned ones cheaper then buying new.
