Just a gay Phd researcher wondering if there is one in TCD. Who runs it?

Yup. It's called Qsoc. It's run by students and sponsored by the societies committee.

    Here's the website: http://www.trinitylgbt.com/

    Yeah, check it out.

    Essential skills for any researcher.

It's quite a vibrant and lively society. Or at least it was when I was a student there.

This forum has a abnormally large amount of smart arse comments. It doesn't reflect well on the stereotype of TCD students being snobs

Well I emailed them 3 weeks ago and heard nothing back. Great

I'm afraid that the forum has an alarmingly high number of lazy posters and such things do nothing to maintain our reputation as an old, but second-rate university of some renown.

It's a pity I hurt your feelings though.

Another smart arse comment. Well done.

Is there really any need for all of this?

    A valid point. Sorry. :)

Asking a question like OP's (especially when one is allegedly a *research* student) and merely getting pointed towards Google in a smart-arse-y tone is getting off lightly, don'tcha think?

    Hey,

Qsoc are having a games night on this Thursday at 19.30. You should come along and get to know a few people, just talk to someone in a purple jumper and tell them your new and they will make you feel right at home. It's on in the GSU Common Room, House 7. Here is the Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/events/345124988925151/

Ah I have a pet peeve for people who link http://lmgtfy.com/

It was funny the first time a decade ago but now it's pure smugness.

Thanks, funnily enough one of my friends is having a games night by coincidence on Thursday and I said I would go.

I may pop into the GSU one day though since I know where it is

It was a throwaway remark, I suppose it would be easier for someone to google it but instead they posted here. Didn't think that counted as lazy. And the title was probably more a discussion starter than anything. The OP was asking who ran the LGBT soc here after he/she couldn't contact them in the first place.
