I know it's a long shot cos it's the weekend but does anyone know of anywhere I get a starter motor repaired/reconditioned today (Saturday), in Dublin West/South? Really need the car going ASAP. Thanks.

Try Myles balf in phisbrough, I'm sure the likes of Hamiltons the auto electric and would supply too.

I've never changed one before so I'm not looking to do it myself.

Is it as simple as removing the old and fitting the new?

Yeah, 3 or 4 bolts and a connection. But some are a nightmare to get at. Access is often the biggest problem.

What car OP? Some cars will have starters readily available, others won't. Try Electro Maintenance Ltd. They import and recon Starters and alternators, not sure if they will be open today.

Got this sorted by a company called Almax based in Dublin 12. Luckily they were open 9 - 1pm today.

Car is a 96 Mazda 323. Apparently access was a bit of a pain to get to but all good now. Thanks for your responses.
