If you are requested to attend a court case because you made a statement as you were if the vicinity of an accident but didnt see the accident,do you have to attend.

Does requested mean a chat when someone asked you or have you received a summons. If it is a summons and you don't turn up a bench warrant can be issued so you can be arrested and brought before the court.

No not a summons just a letter from solicters representing one of the injured parties(no one badly injured)asking me to attend.I said it all in my statement.I didnt see the accident.Dont really want to spend my time in court when it has nothing to do with me.

Your evidence may be of value even if you did not see anything. Someone may have claimed that they passed the spot where you were in at the time of the accident. In that case your evidence as to where you were, at what time and what you did not see would be highly relevant.

If it is not a summons it would be polite to contact the solicitor and infom him of your view, if he wishes to summon you he will need to do it correctly and pay you your expenses.
