    Hi,
Appreciate any help here. I sent an important package through registered post with an post. I requested the confirmation of delivery document from an post which i have received through email. On the document it says delivery depot: Swords. The address i had sent it to was in Swords but they didn't list the full address on the document and delivery depot sounds like an post delivery depot
(there is one in swords) and would leave me to think that my package was not delivered. There is a signature on this document. Also is registered post with a confirmation document of delivery legally binding that i could use as such if needed. Thanks for any help.

Registered post is proof of a delivery, it does not prove an item was sent to a particular address. To do that you also need to request a "Certificate of Posting" at the time of posting. This is an argument I often have with ignorant staff at the post office, who think Registered Post is enough and do not want the hassle of filling in and stamping a "Certificate of Posting".

I now bring in a print out of An Post's own rules when sending registered post, just in case I get a staff member who thinks otherwise...
    Before you post:
Ask for a Registered Post label at your local Post Office.
Declare the accurate value of the item you are sending.
Attach the correct postage on to your item.
Hand the item over the counter.
Your transaction receipt is proof of posting and includes the Track & Trace ID number to track your item.
If you require evidence to whom the item was sent please ask for a Certificate of Posting at the time of posting

In a legal case you would need to prove that an item was posted to a particular address and, in the case of registered post, that it was signed for. Registered post should be signed for and AN Post should have a signature.
