Importing Dragon Age 1 Saves into DA2

I kept my DA1 saves, but not the entire directory; I have a bunch of directories with the name format "slot_<number"".

Now playing DA2, I want to import these saves. I'm playing on Windows 7, so I've recreated a folder "Dragon Age" in my Documents/Bioware folder. Within "Dragon Age", I added a folder the same name as my original character, and pasted the "slot_<number">" folders into that.

However, DA2 still doesn't recognise my saves. Have I put the "slot..." folders in the wrong place, or am I missing files?

    P.
