    Hey,

I am a student on the look out for some work. I have heard of a lot of people in college working as brand ambassadors for different promotional companies such as brand army, thinknblink, edge promotions etc. I was just wondering has anyone had experience working with these companies and if so what is the hours and pay like (Do you get paid often, is it a fixed rate, etc). Any info at all would help.

    thanks

I have done some work for Imagine Marketing, trading as Brand Army. The work itself is fun, we were promoting Jack Daniels in pubs on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. I took the work as I was stuck for cash coming up to Christmas. So we started work in November, and they told us we will be paid for November in the middle of December and likewise paid for December in the middle of January. We were travelling all over the Munster, and they promised us that we would be paid for travel time and all expenses, sounded great HOWEVER!!!!!! Nobody got paid!!! They were giving us all kinds of excuses, such as they're internet connection was down and they couldn't log on to their bank account to transfer the money, this went on for a long time, eventually they sent me a payslip and for over 60 hours they said they owed me €270!!! and half that went on tax!! This money was never paid, nor was the tax, and as I was on the dole I had to sign off for several days in each month, so I got no dole for these days and no wages from Brand Army. 3 days a week for nearly two months and no wages. Serious Scam, stay away from this company!

I did work for a good few of them back when I was in college.

If you're the right type of person and can get into one of the better companies, the money is savage, you get tonnes of free stuff, the perks are amazing and due to the nature of the job, most of the people you work with are sound and quite attractive.

stay away from Brand Army / Imagine Marketing they are serious cowboys, its a miricale if you get paid from them. They will promise you all expensies so you end up paying for what should come out of thier petty cash and you will never get a cent for this or for hours worked. Just a dodgy dodgy company, I am amazed they get any clients at all. Everything about them is just so disorganised, but this may just be a guise to delay making payment to their staff.
Simple life rule. If it seems to be too good to be true, then it probably is!
