Do you choose insurance based on ads or price?

All these american "liberty insurance" ads on the radio/tv/internet are probably costing them a fortune and I laugh every time I hear one as when my renewal comes around every year - I just go for the company with cheapest quote, simple. "Insurance, only different" or some other marketing bs won't change my mind.

I've been driving 12 years and never used insurance once, an the vast majority of people never will use their insurance. So I can't see beyond the price at this stage. Maybe if they used all that money to lower the premiums instead of advertising I'd select them.

    Opinions agus Thoughts?

Do you mainly care about price of insurance, and nothing else? 7 votes

I wouldn't say I choose it based on ads mainly shop around but i definitely choose not to use them when they have awful ads. No Nonsense and one direct I'm looking at you although that's all I'm doing as you will not get my business for annoying me every time I turn on a tv or radio.

People phone around, they don't phone every single company, although most people will protest that they do, so they phone the names of the companies they know. If they heard the adverts, then the advertising people will hope that they will remember the company name, therefore they'll phone for a quote next time they are looking.

You OP know their name and remember their slogan, so their advertising has worked on you.

That's true but I usually get my "list" from searching google at renewal time as new companies are always popping up - rather than retrieve from memory

Price, insurance companies are in general the scum of the earth anyway so I've no loyalty to them since they'll always do their absolute best to rip you off or avoid paying out in full or find a loophole
