So this is the first flat project I'm planning to start. It's a Roubo style workbench. The parts in the photo I think are the Benchcrafted Tail Vise. http://www.benchcrafted.com/TailVise.html
Anyone know where I would get these parts machined in Ireland? The parts from Benchcrafted cost €275 and that's before shipping. Mitchell's in Tullamore have the Acme threaded rod but the only nut they have is round and I think is twice as expensive as the one in the photo. The Benchcrafted one has the nut threads milled in the block.
I had been thinking of something along these lines http://lumberjocks.com/HungryTermite/blog/20255 but I'm not sure how strong that would hold up after a lot of use.
