Hey guys, I have a friend who is seperating from her husband but is afraid of losing her council house. It's a three bedroom house. She has a son but now with husband gone its just her and the son. So will she be forced to move to a smaller place or will she be able to keep her house? Thanks for any info!

no she wont be forced to leave. she should inform her local authority that he has left in order to have the rent adjusted downwards.

I know a bloke, has 3 kids, they grew up left, house, his wife left, separated,
hes lives in a 3bed council house,by himself, hes on disability benefit.AS long as rent is paid, more than one person living there, they are very unlikely to ask her to move out.The rent is charged ,based on income of persons living there,so its best to tell them, hes gone.
People are usually evicted, for non payment of rent, or antisocial behavior.
His lived there 15 years at least .Funny thing council says, you can buy the house, but you,ll have to get divorced, first, his wife lives in a council flat with 3 new kids.HES separated 11 years.
