VanMoof Bikes: Durability on Dublin Streets?

    Anyone got a Vanmoof?

Saw these bikes in AMS last week and they're a real headturner. Definitiely now something to leave out of your sight for a while, but are they available as a built option to buy anywhere in Dublin?

    What's the actual ride like?

There's a sale on the price points are doable, but is it worth it if the performance isnt great.

    Thoughts?

Of course, that's personal preference, and I imagine that those are likely to be one of those love it or hate it cases. But, no matter how much I think it's a very good concept and design, I find those bikes extremely ugly! (And when I saw them for real, I found them even uglier than I thought from the photos.)

Having said that, I still wish I would see more bikes of that sort on our streets.

There's at least one in daily use around D6/2 seen in being ridden and locked to railings with the integral chain etc.

    Seems to do ok.

I'd imagine it would be like a red rag to a bull in less salubrious locales though.
